About this role
Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) is a full-service credit rating agency seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join its Project Finance & Infrastructure Ratings team. The role supports credit rating assignments and ongoing surveillance by analyzing project finance transactions, financial models, cash flows, financing structures, and credit risks, while developing analytical tools and monitoring portfolio performance.
What you'll do:
- Support new rating assignments and ongoing surveillance across project finance and infrastructure sectors, including energy and power, transportation, digital infrastructure, and social infrastructure. Analyze project cash flows, financial statements, debt and financing structures, and key contractual arrangements
- Review project finance models and perform base case, sensitivity, and downside stress analyses to evaluate debt service capacity and credit risks
- Support quantitative and qualitative analysis for credit memos and publications
- Develop and maintain financial models, analytical tools, spreadsheets, and other data used in the ratings and surveillance process. Assist in research for internal and external publications
- Monitor portfolio performance, update key credit factors, and identify emerging risks and trends across rated project finance and infrastructure transactions
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or another field requiring strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Approximately 0–3 years of relevant experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, credit analysis, banking, investing, or a related field
- Strong understanding of, or demonstrated interest in, infrastructure and project finance credit analysis
- Ability to work as an integral part of a highly collaborative team and across disciplines in a challenging and dynamic environment
- Ability to manage time and resources and multiple analytical assignments in a fast-growing company
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, including the ability to review, construct, and modify project finance cash flow models
- Extremely high attention to detail
- Relevant project finance experience is a plus
- Progress toward the CFA designation or other relevant professional qualifications is a plus
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity is a plus
