Job Description
The Project Supervisor is a member of the Department of Pediatrics – Environmental Sciences Lead Poisoning Prevention and Treatment Program at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York.
For more than 60 years, the program has provided care to children with lead poisoning. As a designated New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Downstate Regional Lead Resource Center (RLRC), the program provides support to local Departments of Health (DOHs) throughout the region in their efforts to eliminate childhood lead poisoning and prevent further exposure among lead-poisoned children. The program's service area extends from Sullivan County in the Catskills through Suffolk County on Long Island.
As a member of the Lead Program, the Project Supervisor  participates in all program meetings (held virtually) and serves as the primary liaison with each Department of Health in the region to assess and respond to their ongoing needs.
The Project Supervisor plans, coordinates, and manages two annual conferences:
  • One conference for regional Departments of Health 
  • One educational conference open to a national and international audience 
As a member of the RLRC, the Project Supervisor prepares quarterly reports summarizing RLRC activities for submission to the New York State Department of Health.
This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position - This position is two full day and one half day per week, days to be determined.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as the primary liaison to regional Departments of Health. 
  • Coordinate communication between the Regional Lead Resource Center and participating agencies. 
  • Plan and execute two annual educational conferences. 
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the New York State Department of Health. 
  • Participate in virtual program meetings and support program initiatives. 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities. 
  • Perform additional administrative and program-related duties as assigned. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required
  • One to three years experience in a similar role preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Basic quantitative and mathematical skills

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Experience in event planning 
  • Knowledge of basic grant procedures 
  • Experience creating flyers, brochures, newsletters, or educational materials (e.g., Canva, Microsoft Publisher, or similar software) 
  • Healthcare exposure (personal or professional) 
  • Experience working with public health, healthcare, academic, or government organizations is a plus.
