Public Accounting Internship

MBE CPAs is a full-service CPA firm providing accounting and tax services. The Public Accounting Intern will work alongside experienced accounting professionals on client engagements, including tax returns, 1099 preparation, and accounting services, while receiving training and mentorship.

What you'll do:

• Preparing 1099s
• Assisting with individual (1040) and business tax returns
• Supporting accounting services for clients
• Work alongside experienced accounting professionals
• Contribute to real client work
• Receiving training, mentorship, and support from team members
• Interns are expected to work onsite at their selected location

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a degree in accounting at a technical school, college, or university
• Interested in pursuing a career in public accounting
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word & Outlook
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work onsite, collaborate with team members, and take on new challenges in a professional environment
• We offer full-time internship opportunities during both the spring and summer
• During busy season, spring interns typically work 40 hours per week Monday - Friday with some flexibility around class schedules
• Summer interns follow our off-season schedule, working Monday - Thursday averaging 32 hours per week
• Interns are expected to work onsite at their selected location
• Please only select locations where you can reliably work onsite throughout the duration of the internship
• Previous accounting coursework, internship experience, or public accounting experience is a plus, but not required
