Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector – Level 2 is an intermediate level inspector, with the ability to fully perform the role of Quality Inspector – Level 1 along with the ability to read and interprt complex blueprints and engineerig documentation and apply an advanced knowledge of manual tools. The Quality Inspector – Level 2 is capable of a wide range of inspection activities to include the inspection of machined parts, assemblies, raw material, heat treat, and outside processing.

Shift:

  • Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11pm
  • Shift differential of $2.50/hr.

Reporting Relationships:

  • The Quality Inspector – Level 2 reports directly to the Inspection Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect fastener installation, sealant, raw material, machine parts, bushings, bearings, and standards, simple assemblies, outside processing (NDT, finishes, finish coatings, thermal processing, etc.)
  • Document FAI report
  • Document non-conformances
  • May occasionally perform special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

 Required Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to be certified with Hardness and Eddy Current, Sealant, Bushing and bearing installation.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Experienced in reading and correctly interpreting complex blueprints and engineering requirements
  • Experience in applying shop math skills such as trigonometry, ability to calculate dimensions, set sine plate, etc.
  • Basic understanding of BQMS (Business Quality Management System) processes and procedures
  • Basic understanding of machine shop and aerospace assembly terminology and nomenclature
  • Fully experienced with all basic and advanced manual inspection tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to read and understand technical and engineering material and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive focus and earnest approach in meeting responsibilities and goals

Level of Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
