R&D Electrical Engineering Co-op - Spring 2027

The R&D Electrical Engineering Co-op will gain practical experience by supporting research and development projects, collaborating with teams, analyzing product and technology opportunities, and contributing to technical solutions.

What you'll do:

• Collaborating with various teams to support ABB’s operations, ensuring effective coordination and timely project completion within the defined timelines
• Leveraging insights about customer needs and ABB’s offerings to identify suitable solutions for clients, leading to project results that meet customer expectations
• Participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative efforts
• Seeking feedback and guidance from manager and team members to improve performance and skills
• Analyzes opportunities for short term product enhancement, medium term product development, and longer-term technology developments
• Demonstrates solid technical proficiency in own competence area by performing a variety of technology/engineering assignments, mainly in research and development (R&D) projects, which demonstrates independent ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutions
• Maintains awareness of state-of-art technology, as well as ABB products and technologies, and identifies and understands technical drivers for R&D projects in own area

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical Engineering in the United States
• Experience with embedded C or C++
• Experience with Python
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
