Summary

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is located at the Liberty Center at NBK Bangor.

Duties

  • Incumbent performs variety of duties in support of Morale, Welfare and Recreation Community Recreation program that includes, demonstrating customer service while attending to front counter operations such as use of point-of-sale systems, collecting fees/cash handling associated with sale of tickets and rental items, accountable for accuracy of daily sales transactions, assisting customers with questions, complaints and suggestions. Issues laptops and game equipment, performs general housekeeping, and program support. Conduct and maintains inventories of equipment, retail goods, rental supplies and item for proper accountability. Performs entertainment and promotion scheduling. Responsibilities further entail the issuance of game equipment, general housekeeping, bowling program and program support. Must be able to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system. Incumbent must be capable of driving a 15 passenger van

Qualifications

Travel may be required. Ability to work independently. Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities. Knowledge of goals, principles and techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests. Individual must be responsible with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors under varied weather conditions. A neat and clean appearance required. Will need to collect and accurately record cash transactions and operate a cash register.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Have and maintain a valid driver's license. May be required to obtain and maintain food handler's certification, CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hiring. This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required. Can include nights, weekends and holidays

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
