Recruiter – Technology Hiring

IBM is seeking a passionate and technically curious Recruiter to support technology hiring across Consulting, software engineering, AI, Cloud, Systems software, and emerging technology domains. The role partners with engineering leaders and hiring managers to develop sourcing strategies, engage software talent, evaluate candidates, build talent pipelines, provide market insights, and support the recruitment process through onboarding.

What you'll do:

• Partner with hiring managers, engineering leaders and technical teams to understand software hiring requirements
• Translate technical role requirements into effective sourcing strategies and candidate engagement plans
• Identify and engage software engineering talent through LinkedIn, talent communities, referrals, campus networks and other sourcing channels
• Support hiring across domains such as AI/ML, cloud computing, distributed systems, cybersecurity, operating systems, application development, systems software and compiler technologies
• Review and evaluate candidate profiles by analyzing technical competencies, project exposure, educational background, and role fit
• Conduct candidate conversations to understand technical expertise, career goals and interest in IBM opportunities
• Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for niche and high-demand software engineering skills
• Provide hiring teams/business with market insights, talent availability, competitor intelligence and pipeline updates
• High touch candidate experience across sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer and onboarding stages
• Track recruitment activity, maintain accurate hiring data and provide timely updates on progress and risks
• Build Agents for the Recruitment process (NOTE: IBM does not us AI for Matching, Sourcing or Selecting in the US but there are many other rudimentary tasks that Agents can be used for)

What they're looking for:

• No prior recruitment experience is required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related engineering discipline
• Passionate about software technologies, engineering roles and emerging technology trends
• Demonstrated ability to understand software skill sets, technology stacks and engineering job requirements
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills
• Attention to detail, ownership mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring stakeholders in a professional and consultative manner
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Golang, Python, Java, C, C++ or JavaScript
• Exposure to Linux, Cloud platforms, DevOps, Kubernetes, AI/ML, data engineering or cybersecurity concepts
• Internship or project experience in engineering, technical research, consulting, talent sourcing or technology recruitment
• Curiosity to continuously learn about software engineering trends and technology talent markets
• Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) or candidate sourcing platforms is good to have
