DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on providing educational support, guidance, and training to nursing personnel to strengthen nursing practices and care procedures. As a Registered Nurse Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Development: Assist in creating continuing education programs, preparing lesson plans, and gathering materials
- Class Instruction: Present educational programs in nursing arts, care practices, documentation, and safety
- Staff Orientation: Develop orientation programs and guide new nursing personnel through policies and procedures
- Performance Review: Evaluate training effectiveness by observing procedures and consulting with supervisors and committees
- Training Leadership: Supervise personnel during training, convey new techniques, and coordinate diversified instructional material
- Record Oversight: Prepare reports, maintain orientation records, and update training goals and objectives

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Organization or Location Restrictions:
- This posting is restricted to Department of Human Services, South Mountain Restoration Center employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of professional nursing experience; and a bachelor’s degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; or
- One year of professional nursing experience and a master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
