Description
Performs vascular studies, focusing on Carotid, ABI, Arterial Duplex, Venous Duplex and Venous Insufficiency. Drafts reports and ensures providers receive final reports. Ensures proper maintenance of equipment. Team player ready to deliver quality patient care at a growing practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- · Performs carotid duplex, renal artery duplex, abdominal aorta duplex, upper & lower venous duplex, ABI, upper and lower arterial duplex and vascular screenings.
- · Provides patients with instructions on procedures. Prepares reports that include testing indication, patient history and technical data from study.
- · Performs basic equipment maintenance and ensures that maintenance and repair is completed by the manufacturer.
- · Assists physicians in venous ablation procedures.
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- · Knowledge of cerebrovascular studies, venous studies, renal artery studies, abdominal aorta studies and arterial studies.
- · Basic cardiac physiology.
- · Skill in performing recognized vascular procedures.
- · Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information.
- · Skill in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
- · Use of ultrasound equipment and computers.
- · Ability to work in a cooperative nature within and outside department with staff, patients and families.
- · Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- · Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
- · Ability to work in other locations as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound or vascular technology program. Minimum of one year of vascular experience. Registered Vascular Technologist, RVT, or Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS, certification required. Experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome. Credential must be obtained withing one year of finishing vascular program.
Summary
Full Time, Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm, depending on the clinic location. No Nights! No Weekends! No On-call! This position may require travel to various locations.
