Responsibilities - What you’ll do

What you’ll do: 

  • Maintain the research and data analysis program for the division which includes existing databases in Smartsheet and dashboards in Tableau.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards that drive data-based decision-making and existing bid and contract databases.
  • Convert and validate raw data into clear, meaningful information and tell a story by creatively displaying details in charts, graphs, and slides.
  • Build and maintain meaningful dashboards related to the buying process and the customer experience. Develop dashboards to targeted audiences to promote awareness and maintain an open feedback loop for continuous improvement to meet customer needs for timely data-based decision-making.
  • Analyze turnaround times in procurement processes to identify bottlenecks and trends to help drive process improvements so that state agency customers obtain the products and services needed to serve their customers in a timely manner.
  • Gather contract spend data to identify contract usage trends, off contract spend, and contract gaps to inform future statewide contract development that best serves the needs of state and local government agencies.
  • Validate and ensure data accuracy from various data sources in various forms.
  • Troubleshoot data integrity, dashboards, and other data issues that arise.
  • Extract data from existing databases as necessary to prepare reports needed for budget and respond to other inquiries
  • Participate in management and support of division data tools and data repositories.

Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of data analysis information experience are preferred.  Substitutions allowed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization platforms, such as Tableau, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and determine reporting requirements.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, analytical skills, and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • High level of proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep Builder, Smartsheet, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data warehouses, writing queries, developing reports and presentations, and using SQL.
