Position Information

We are seeking a Research Associate who under supervision will assist the Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute (NRI) portion of the Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA) for Naval Air Station Key West (NASKW) with the design and implementation of wildlife management efforts across multiple taxa. Effective management will rely upon employee-lead on-the-ground research and well-written reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Design, plan, conduct and coordinate research in support of NASKW management goals.

- Write high-quality reports to fulfill NRI, IGSA and NASKW requirements.

- Implement research efforts sufficient for peer-reviewed publication.

- Use computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant specialty area.

- Two years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to use relevant computer software, perform statistical analyses, and work cooperatively across groups and agencies.

- Experience with wildlife handling.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ph.D. and/or DVM degree in relevant specialty area.

- Ability to exercise good judgement

- Ability to work independently or collaboratively

- Ability to multitask

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Good written and verbal communication skills
