This project is aimed at investigating the roles of varicose projection astrocytes in Alzheimer’s disease, at the molecular, cellular, and functional level. The goal is to better understand how this astrocyte subtype contributes to disease pathology, and to identify new avenues for therapeutic intervention. - Coordinate and perform experiments for the grant project, including maintaining mammalian cell cultures, collecting, and analyzing data, and keeping accurate experimental records.
- Work closely with the principal investigator to organize research activities, monitor project progress, and troubleshoot experiments.
- Train and mentor undergraduate students in laboratory techniques, experimental procedures, data documentation, and safe laboratory practices.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventories, coordinating equipment maintenance, and ensuring an organized and safe working environment.
- Participate in lab meetings and contribute to preparing research reports, presentations, and manuscripts.

$55,000 annually and a contract offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage.
