Conducts basic science research, sets up and operates lab equipment, prepares materials, performs experiments, records data and analyze results. Contributes to developments and project requirements, determining objectives, and managing objectives. Prepares reports and presentation-based results Ensures the operational condition of scientific equipment through maintenance and condition. May be required to perform other lab related duties as assigned.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%26nbsp;Duties include:%26nbsp;%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EEstablish database (retrospective and prospectively collect data)%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EBasic data analysis for research purposes%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EWrite up abstracts/manuscripts, and%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECommunicate with patients.%26nbsp;%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3EThe Hernandez Lab studies sex differences and the effect of sex hormones in articular cartilage biology and mechanobiology. The ideal candidate will learn how to work with human samples, perform cell culture, RNA isolation, qPCR, Western blotting, cryosectioning, histology, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, and atomic force microscopy. Previous experience in some of these techniques is desirable.
