Siemens Healthineers is a global medical technology company focused on pioneering healthcare breakthroughs. The Research Intern will develop multimodal vision, language, and action models for robotic tasks, design sensor-fusion pipelines, and connect perception with planning and control using VLA-based policies and agentic AI frameworks.

What you'll do:

• Developing and fine-tuning multimodal vision/language/action models for downstream robotic tasks
• Designing pipelines that fuse multi-sensor imaging and kinematic signals into unified spatial representations
• Connecting perception to planning and control through VLA-based policies and agentic AI decision-making frameworks

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a foreign degree- or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States OR Has graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to his or her exchange visitor program start date
• A successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law
• M.S., Ph.D., or postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch)
• Demonstrated research experience in computer vision, deep learning, or multimodal machine learning (e.g., publications, projects, or advanced coursework)
