Position Type: non-exempt, part-time, seasonal, hourly (Event-Based Retail Contractor)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Stadium/Event Venue – Onsite)
Reports To: VP Consumer Products / Merchandise Coordinator (as applicable)
Compensation: $14-$16 per hour

Position Summary
Retail Associates support Carolina Ascent FC merchandise operations on event days. This position provides event-based retail support including merchandise stand set-up, in-game sales operations, and post-event tear down.

Retail Associates represent the Carolina Ascent FC brand at the point of sale by delivering excellent fan service, accurately processing transactions, maintaining a clean and organized retail space, and supporting inventory and operational procedures.

Event Shift Types (Retail Support)
Retail Associates may be engaged for one or more of the following shift segments:
●      Set-Up Shift: Load-in, set-up, inventory staging, pricing/signage, register preparation
●      Game Shift: Fan-facing retail sales operations during gates open through event conclusion
●      Tear Down Shift: Breakdown, pack-out, inventory consolidation, store reset, load-out 
Scope of Work / Responsibilities

Retail Sales & Fan Experience
●      Provide professional, friendly, and efficient service to fans and customers
●      Promote Carolina Ascent FC merchandise and assist customers with product selection, sizing, and availability
●      Maintain a positive, high-energy retail environment aligned with brand standards

Point-of-Sale (POS)
Accurately process transactions using POS systems (credit card, mobile pay, cash where applicable)
●      Follow event retail procedures for drawer start/end counts and transaction integrity
●      Support loss prevention practices including awareness of theft risk and shrink reduction

Merchandise Operations
●      Assist with stocking, folding, sizing runs, display upkeep, and restocking high-volume items
●      Maintain clean and organized retail areas (tables, racks, storage bins, signage)
●      Support basic inventory handling such as counting, sorting, labeling, and consolidating product

Event Logistics (Set-Up / Tear Down)
●      Assist with load-in/load-out of retail supplies, signage, product bins/totes, and fixtures
●      Break down retail displays and pack merchandise according to provided procedures
●      Maintain safe work practices when lifting, carrying, and moving merchandise/equipment

Required Qualifications
●      Must be at least 18 years of age
●      Customer service mindset with strong communication skills
●      Ability to follow event procedures and complete assigned deliverables with minimal supervision
●     Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
●     Ability to use POS systems and/or willingness to learn quickly
●      Reliable transportation to and from the venue

Preferred Qualifications
●      Previous retail, concessions, or event-day operations experience
●      Experience working with mobile POS (Square, Shopify POS, etc.)
●      Ability to upsell/promote merchandise and support sales goals
●      Experience handling cash and balancing a till accurately

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
●      Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (event-length shifts)
●      Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (merchandise totes/boxes) with or without reasonable assistance
●      Ability to work indoors/outdoors depending on venue configuration
●      Ability to work in variable temperatures and crowded event conditions
●      Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule

Compensation - $14-$16/hour, shifts are between 4-10 hours per game
Compensation is paid hourly based on event staffing plan and experience.

●      Arrive ready to work and complete agreed-upon shift deliverables
●      Maintain professional conduct with fans, venue staff, and merchandise leadership
●      Follow venue policies and safety procedures while on-site
●      Represent Carolina Ascent FC and Empower Sports and Entertainment LLC positively at all times
