This unit cares for patients with complex conditions such as sepsis, renal and liver failure, pulmonary hypertension, GI bleeding, multi-organ dysfunction, heart failure, STEMI, NSTEMI, and post-cardiac catheterization needs. Working collaboratively with the physicians and interdisciplinary teams, the RN utilizes advanced critical care therapies and technologies, including CRRT, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support, Swan-Ganz catheter management, and heart and lung transplant evaluations.
