About this role

Hadrian is building autonomous factories by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to transform aerospace and defense production. The Robotics Engineer Intern will help design, develop, and deploy software for intelligent automation systems, contributing to production tools, backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and manufacturing workflow features.

What you'll do:

  • Build and improve internal tools, dashboards, and automation systems that support factory operations
  • Contribute to backend services, APIs, and data pipelines used across engineering, operations, and quality teams
  • Help design and implement features that improve visibility into production workflows, capacity, and program status
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, program management, and quality to understand requirements and deliver software solutions
  • Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
  • Surface technical risks and contribute to architectural discussions

What they're looking for:

  • Current university student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Strong proficiency in C++ or Python
  • Exposure to motion control, trajectory generation, and robot kinematics/dynamics
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams and end-to-end project ownership
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Passionate about advancing manufacturing automation through robotics innovation
  • Excitement for manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, highly ambiguous environment
  • Willingness to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
  • Prior internship or project experience shipping production software
  • Interest in manufacturing systems, automation, or industrial software
