The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort throughout guest rooms and assigned public areas. This position plays a vital role in delivering a refined, personalized guest experience by ensuring all spaces reflect the luxury or boutique hotel service standards while interacting with guests in a warm, professional, and discreet manner. 

 

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 

  • Clean, service, and maintain guest rooms, suites, and corridors according to luxury boutique hotel standards. 

  • Make beds with precision, ensuring linens are crisp, properly aligned, and free from defects. 

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, floors, and surfaces using approved cleaning products and procedures. 

  • Replenish guest room amenities, linens, towels, and supplies in accordance with brand standards. 

  • Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance concerns; report issues promptly. 

  • Maintain assigned public areas, including hallways, stairwells, and service areas, ensuring a pristine appearance. 

  • Communicate courteously and professionally with guests when encountered, acknowledging them warmly while maintaining privacy and discretion. 

  • Respond promptly to guest requests or concerns and coordinate with supervisors or other departments as needed. 

  • Handle guest belongings with care, respect, and confidentiality. 

  • Follow hotel security, privacy, and lost-and-found procedures. 

  • Safely operate housekeeping equipment and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with training and safety guidelines. 

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. 

  • Support sustainability and environmentally responsible initiatives. 

  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless service. 

 

Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Furthermore, task and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.  

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

 

  • Prior housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel, boutique hotel, or high-end residential setting preferred. 

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining immaculate spaces. 

  • Professional appearance and service-oriented demeanor. 

  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact graciously with guests. 

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and brand standards consistently. 

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts. 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods. 

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds. 

  • Ability to operate housekeeping carts, vacuums, and cleaning equipment safely. 

  • Must wear required personal protective equipment per job responsibilities.
