This position is located at the Package Store . Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Sales/Retail Fuel Manager.
Major Duties
Serves as the Sales Mgr. responsible for sales management practices within an assigned retail area/category. Leads by example to: shape and sustain a working environment conducive to the successful performance of those entrusted to his/her leadership and direction; and creating a positive atmosphere and culture within Business Operations and its branches that reflect the pride, professionalism, fulfillment, collaborative engagement, well-being, and customer focus of its employees.
Responsible department sales goals. Supervises sales and merchant activities throughout the assigned retail area/category. Works with the Operations Mgr. to ensure scheduling/coverage and training of team members within the assigned sales area. Plans and executes corporate service and sales programs, product promotions and events. Identifies opportunities to resolve customer problems and concerns communicating with the Experience Mgr. Takes advantage of training opportunities to develop selling skills in product categories, time management, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, career planning, public speaking and small group leadership with team to develop their product knowledge. Remains committed to learning about the brands and products that we sell. Educates customers on product questions and provides suggestions if needed. Addresses customer comments and concerns and informs Operations Mgr.
Partners with the Brand Integrity representative, Store Mgr. or Assistant Store Mgr. on upcoming floor sets, visual displays and planogram planning. Ensures assigned sales area is merchandised to brand standards with proper product placement. Communicates product outs to Assistant Store Mgr. or Store Mgr. Identifies opportunities to produce add-on sales through consultative and suggestive selling processes. Ensures all sale, ad and promotional items are signed and placed according to brand standards. Ensures all product displays and planograms are signed and labeled according to brand standards. Identifies and reduces all risks of loss and/or theft. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Delivers a Dress Blue Experience to all customers throughout the store. Offers assistance and suggestive selling advice as the customer progresses throughout their shopping experience. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the supervisor. Adheres to standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, scheduling, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave; recommending and completing personnel actions; completing performance reviews and signing timecards; training employees. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Assists in developing the implementation and control of an adequate, effective training plan for all. Promotes training and development throughout the store and supports the implementation and integration of the MCX corporate training and career development program. Participates in all corporate-led training programs and works with Leadership to set training goals and manage training compliance and learning transfer. Promotes employee training and skills development learning plans. Plays an integral role in leadership development initiatives. Connects required training to performance and skills gaps. Strongly promotes the cultivation of MCX corporate culture, mission and core values and engages with leaders and team through conversations, modeling behaviors, supporting team-centric initiatives and driving team satisfaction. Has key-holder responsibility: opening and closing and receiving products. May require food handling safety training, Environmental compliance inspection, Hazmat handling certification and other customer offered experiences. May require light custodial duties, light lifting of merchandise, stocking, setting planograms, price changes, inventory counts and corrections.
Performs other duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required.
Qualifications
BACHELOR¿S DEGREE from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to work of the position, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR FOUR YEARS of practical experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Experience working within a sales/selling environment required. Three years of experience working in a supervisory role within a sales/selling environment. Advanced selling skills and techniques and product merchandising skills required. Ability to train operating standards and procedures for service, service recovery, sales leadership and store brand as well as work within the position to execute these standards properly and coach others within the team to do so with a high degree of skill and confidence. Ability to work in a high-performance atmosphere with commitment to service goals. Ability to multi-task with high quality follow-up and holding teams accountable to results. Strong working knowledge of business processes, controls and system development. Attention to detail is required.
