The Sales Representative II is responsible for educating and assisting qualified individuals with purchasing affordable health insurance coverage and/or obtaining an eligibility determination for coverage in Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) and insurance affordability programs such as Medicaid and Child Health Plus (CHP) through the NY State of Health (MarketPlace). The Sales Representative II is responsible for identifying and educating prospective members that do not have health insurance and/or are looking to change coverage as well as assisting existing members with recertification and education of benefits. The Sales Representative II is tasked with performing all duties in accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as well as all other pertinent rules and regulations.

9:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M
Duties & Responsibilities
Level I
- Implement methods, activities and action plans necessary to achieve daily, weekly and monthly objectives.
- Presents clear and accurate information regarding health plan to eligible recipients and community-at-large.
- Performs group and individual presentations for purpose of educating and enrolling qualified participants in a variety of arenas included but not limited to income support centers, provider sites, churches, WIC programs and shelters.
- Presents MetroPlusHealth Plan information to HHC employees at annually designated open enrollment periods.
- Performs telemarketing activities as appropriate for purposes of enrollment and follow-up activity.
- Maintains accurate documentation related to enrollment and field activities.
- Participates in regularly scheduled sales/marketing meetings as required.
- Performs other related tasks as directed.
Level II
- May act as a preceptor to subordinate enrollment sales representative assistants or enrollment sales representatives to facilitate their understanding of MetroPlus objectives, operations and site specific information.
- Implements and monitors appropriate methods, activities and action plans necessary to regularly achieve accelerated predetermined enrollment objectives.
- Ensures appropriate and accurate documentation of plan enrollments and field activities.
- Provides assistance and facilities communications to sales management team.
- Participates in bi-weekly and monthly sales/marketing meetings.
- Performs related duties.
- Performs all duties of enrollment sales representative level I.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Satisfactory completion of three months of training and orientation administered by MHP personnel; or,
2. High School graduation or evidence of having satisfactorily passed a High School
Equivalency Program; and,
3. Demonstrated skills in written and or oral communication; and,
4. Minimum one year of experience in direct consumer contact, sales and/or social services; or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
6. Knowledge of a second language may be required.
Special Notes:
1. For placement in Assignment Level II, candidates must possess one (1) year of experience in Assignment Level I or an additional year of related full-time experience.
2. For placement in Assignment Level III, candidates must possess one (1) year of experience in Assignment Level II or an additional two (2) years of related full-time experience, with at least one (1) of those years in a supervisory capacity.
