Sales Tax Accountant

Hobby Lobby is hiring a Sales Tax Accountant for its Tax Department. The role prepares and files tax returns, supports tax audits, communicates with government jurisdictions, and helps maintain compliance with filing obligations.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns
• Handle sales & use tax audits across multiple jurisdictions
• Communicate with state and local jurisdictions
• Prepare business tax returns
• Participate in special projects as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting
• 1- 3 years of sales and use tax compliance experience
• Possess direct and practical knowledge of transactional taxes and related challenges
• Detail oriented self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and possess a strong sense of urgency in meeting government filing deadlines
• Detailed knowledge of Excel
• Preferably in the multi-state sales and use tax area
