T. Marzetti Company, is looking for someone to assist in operation of packaging equipment, inspects product, fills feed trays, assembles boxes, packs product into cases, stacks filled cases on pallets for shipping, and performs other duties as needed to ensure continuous operation of a product filling/packaging line at its Horse Cave Plant. This position may be rotated on all lines within department.
Responsibilities
- Maintains daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
- Documents daily waste report.
- Cleans flour sifter daily, inspects, records findings, then signs flour sifter inspection sheet.
- Cleans mixer, cutter, pre-dryer, finish dryer, and storage dryers daily using proper GMP’s.
- Mops downstairs, cleans bathrooms, and cleans and mops lunchroom weekly.
- Sweeps production area daily.
- Follow GSO’s and other policies designed to improve safety.
- Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards in work area.
- Burn dryers as scheduled.
- Ensures compliance with preventive controls as laid out in Food Safety Plan.
Qualifications
- Must be dependable, reliable, and able.
- Have the ability to keep plant clean and orderly.
- Must be able to withstand heat and lift 50 lbs.
- Must be flexible with start and end times.
- Must be physically fit and be able to fit into tight spaces.
Working Conditions/Environment
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read and comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances. Lifting of up to 75 pounds repetitively. Standing required for up to 12 hours shifts with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level in the plant is loud.
SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the employee.
