ACCOUNT CLERK II – SCHOOL NUTRITION SERVICES
Department: School Nutrition Services
Pay Grade: U109
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position performs intermediate skilled clerical work while performing a variety of specialized clerical tasks in the School Nutrition Department (12 mo, 260 days, 7 hrs/day)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Communicates with food service managers, site coordinator, and supervisors to resolve problems and answer any questions;

Communicates with vendors to resolve any problems pertaining to invoices;
-
Checks and reviews a variety of data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards and procedures;

Collects and prepares data for records and reports;
-
Performs minor accounting type functions;
-
Maintains computerized records and generates appropriate reports;
-
Reviews invoices for payment and verifies pricing is correct according to bid;
-
Maintains purchase orders and ensures purchase orders does not exceed approved limits;

Maintain and balance PeopleSoft Reports;
-
Serves as receptionist; answers telephone, provides information, takes and routes messages;

Receives, stamps, sorts internal and external mail;
-
Operates standard office equipment;

Knowledge of Google Suite and other software application, such as PeopleSoft, Hexagon, Kronos, PrimeroEdge, etc;

Maintains confidential information;

Performs general clerical work as required;

Performs related tasks as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
-
This work also requires the ability to attain a clear understanding of Federal and State regulations governing the National School Lunch, Breakfast Programs, and other meal programs.

Knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods.
-
Knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices and their application to a wide variety of accounting transactions.

Knowledge of standard office methods, practices, and equipment.
-
Skill in the use of computer equipment.

Ability to maintain financial records and to prepare financial reports accurately.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school nutrition managers, site coordinators, and supervisors.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
-
Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

Work requires reaching, fingering, grasping, and feeling; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
