This position will be located at Deutschheim State Historic Site, 109 West Second Street, Hermann, MO. This is a temporary, seasonal position. The work hours are flexible and negotiable, but not to exceed 1,000 hours total during a year. 

Duration of Assignment: Flexible time frame, from October - December, including the possibility of extended season. 

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

• You will be assisting the State Park staff with interpretation, and you will get to actively learn the site’s operations, cultural and natural resource stewardship activities, and historical research.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public
• Sell tour tickets and souvenirs in the gift shop
• Conduct guided tours of two, circa 1840s historic homes and related businesses
• Greet guests and visitors, answer telephone and email inquiries
• Empty trash containers and clean visitor center restroom
• Light maintenance of site buildings
• Depending on area(s) of interest: assist with gardening, data entry, maintenance, research, and German translations
• Other duties as assigned
