Classified-Exempt Position
Law Enforcement/Charleston HQ Under general supervision, performs a wide range of general and agency-specific office and administrative tasks, requiring advanced general office skills plus a comprehensive knowledge of pertinent rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Will interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines and exercise independent judgment.
Employee is responsible for processing the revocation of hunting and fishing licenses, serving as administrator and point of contact for the Interstate Wildlife Violators Compact, and processing reinstatements of hunting and fishing licenses. Will work closely with the court systems to verify violations and court dispositions. Collect money for reinstatement fees and processing. Prepare documents and schedule all parties for revocation appeal hearings. Will work with other law enforcement agencies, court systems, WVDNR officers, and attorneys. Process upon receipt of all legal orders granting expungements from Circuit and Magistrate Courts. Attention to detail is vital for this position.
Answer telephone and emails and provide information on programs or direct the inquiry to the proper staff. Will answer questions from the public regarding natural resources laws, rules, and regulations. Will establish and maintain files for various tasks. Open, sort, and distribute section mail. Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, review documents for accuracy and initiate correction of errors. Performs related work as instructed. Regular attendance is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Experience: Five years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing clerical duties at the Office Assistant 3 level, encompassing a wide range of office practices, which must have in included typing, screening and routing telephone calls and correspondence, and composing routine correspondence.
Other Information
Preference may be given to individuals with experience accessing the mainframe and a working knowledge of personal computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Access, Excel, Word; and Adobe emphasized).
PG: 9 $31,533 - $53,916
Market Rate: $48,122
