About this role
CoStar Group is a global provider of real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. The Security Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience in enterprise cybersecurity through vulnerability management, endpoint security, threat detection, security controls, cybersecurity operations, and project work while learning from experienced team members.
What you'll do:
- Develop a working prototype to solve a cybersecurity challenge
- Perform cybersecurity operations such as responding to alerts, analyzing findings, or tuning controls
- Assist in a cybersecurity project while learning from experienced team members and building a foundation in modern cybersecurity practices
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a comparable major
- Must be planning to return to school following the completion of the Summer 2027 internship
- Must have an expected graduation date of December 2027 - June 2028
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through personal endeavors outside of undergraduate degree program
- Available to participate in the full 10-week summer internship program and commit to a 40-hour work week throughout the internship
- Coursework, project, internship, research, or work experience related to cybersecurity, networking, operating systems, cloud computing, scripting, automation, system administration, or comparable technical disciplines
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal formats
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- We welcome all qualified candidates who are currently eligible to work full-time in the United States to apply
- Ability to describe cybersecurity concepts such as vulnerability management, endpoint security, network security, authentication, access controls, or incident response
- Exposure to scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages
