Security Engineer Intern (Security & Privacy) - 2027 Summer

TikTok USDS Joint Venture is dedicated to protecting U.S. user data, applications, and infrastructure through data privacy and cybersecurity programs. The Security Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience deploying and monitoring security controls, conducting assessments and penetration testing, supporting code review and API testing for LLM integration, and helping harden enterprise architecture.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of security controls across endpoints, networks, and cloud infrastructure
• Take part in security development projects such as code review and API testing that will benefit LLM integration
• Support security functions by conducting security assessments, running penetration testing tools, and tracking remediation efforts
• Work closely with cross-functional IT and engineering teams to enforce security best practices and harden enterprise architecture

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• Security engineering experience such as security automation, threat modeling, security mitigation development or security tooling development
• Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions to problems in a clear and concise way
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with modern enterprise security frameworks (e.g., Zero Trust, threat modeling etc.)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a drive to continuously learn evolving cyber security domains
