Security Operations Intern

American National Insurance Company offers a summer internship program providing students with real-world corporate experience, project work, leadership exposure, and professional development. The Security Operations Intern will support identity and access management initiatives by documenting application processes, supporting authentication configurations, testing solutions, and improving operational workflows while gaining exposure to enterprise cybersecurity technologies.

What you'll do:

• In this role, you'll support identity and access management initiatives that help employees securely access business applications
• You'll gain hands-on experience documenting application processes, supporting authentication configurations, testing solutions, and improving operational workflows

What they're looking for:

• * Enrolled in an accredited college or university
• * Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship; May 2027 graduates are welcome
• * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• * Available to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• * Able to work onsite at the posted role location
• * Major: Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering
• * Protocols: Understanding of SAML 2, OAuth 2, OIDC, and WS-Federation
• * Directory Services: Familiarity with LDAP, Active Directory (AD), and Azure AD
• * API Security: Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and token-based authentication
• * Strong verbal and written communication skills
• * Sound problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
• * Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
