Responsibilities

 

Manage assigned administrative functions for the Applied Superconductivity Center (ASC), with primary responsibility for supporting the department’s grant management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative requirements of contracts and grants to include the development and submission of grant proposals, setting up of grant awards, periodic and final reports, interpretation of grant regulations and procedures, development and implementation of administrative procedures for managing and utilizing grant resources, and monitoring project progress and completion.
  • Interface with MagLab, Colleges, and Sponsored Research, coordinate grant activities among institutions, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the assigned administrative functions of the Applied Superconductivity Center and effectively interface with its director and deputy director.
  • Work collaboratively within MagLab, FSU and with external stakeholders to solve any issues in a timely manner. This may require navigation through complex interactions for the benefit of the research and educational goals of ASC.
  • Provide backup coordination for the ASC building manager and lab managers, e.g. safety, preparedness, communications etc.
  • Assist the ASC director or the designee of the director in other functions as appropriate, including but not limited to planning and the execution of departmental events, coordination of local workshops, facilitation of seminars, or activities at conferences.
  • Provide backup support for personnel activities to include supervision of recruitment/hiring, help with onboarding, supervision of appointments and reappointments, supervision of visas and compliance, and overall liaison of other personnel related activities across colleges, departments, and MagLab. Coordinate activities that help support the positive work environment at ASC.
  • Provide backup support for the daily fiscal functions including budget reconciliations, procurement administration, and travel administration. Perform work with high accuracy and low error rates.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
