We have an exciting new opportunity and invite applications for the position of Senior Analyst, Workforce Analytics — Data, Reporting & BI. We are seeking a dynamic, well-rounded analytics professional who can perform complex technical and analytical work to address workforce and business needs. Reporting to the Director of Workforce Analytics, your responsibilities will span workforce data, reporting, BI, and analytics to deliver trusted information and actionable insights that inform School of Medicine’s workforce strategies and decision-making.

Duties include:
- Develop and maintain complex business intelligence solutions, including workforce reports, dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, metrics, and ad hoc analyses, with a focus on scalable reporting. Query, clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources to deliver accurate, actionable information and support organizational decision-making.
- Lead complex workforce reporting and business intelligence initiatives end-to-end, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, validation, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Originate and coordinate data governance/stewardship assignments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data, reporting, analytics, and related processes.
- Participate in user acceptance testing of new BI analysis and reporting systems, upgrades, enhancements and change requests; plan, conduct and document results of testing.
- Define and drive areas of investigations to assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs, and tables) from structured data sources by querying data repositories and generating the associated information, including summary interpretations of results.
- Develop and design methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources using a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques. Proactively suggest areas of investigation.
- Design and create meaningful reports that effectively illustrate key findings within the data. Identify and recommend strategic data collection and reporting requirements. Effectively convey findings and recommendations to varied audience groups and senior leadership.
- Provide subject matter expertise for ad-hoc projects and inquiries (e.g., requests for statistical analyses or surveys).
Lead and/or collaborate with technical staff, project teams or vendors to develop standardizing processes and systemize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics.
Validate data, analyses, and outputs for accuracy, identify anomalies, and investigate data quality issues. - Leverage generative AI and emerging technologies to enhance analytical work, automation, and productivity, and identify opportunities to improve reporting and self-service analytics.
- Educate and train stakeholders on workforce analytics tools and promote data literacy, including effective use and interpretation of workforce data.

Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Statistics, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science, MBA, Information Systems, Biology, Physics, Analytics, Data Science or similar area) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of workforce or HR data, metrics, and reporting practices preferred.
Experience working with HR technology platforms (e.g., Oracle HCM, Workday, SuccessFactors); Oracle HCM experience preferred. - Demonstrated expertise in Tableau, with substantial hands-on experience independently designing and developing complex, interactive dashboards, including advanced calculations, parameters, level-of-detail expressions, and row-level security.
- Proficiency with SQL for querying and analyzing data.
- Demonstrated experience transforming, integrating, validating, and analyzing large, complex datasets from multiple data sources for reporting and analytics.
- Experience automating and streamlining recurring data, reporting, and analytics processes to improve efficiency.
- Hands-on experience using Python, R, or similar analytical tools is a plus.
- Experience working with modern cloud-based data and analytics platforms such as Databricks is a plus.
- Familiarity with data governance or data catalog tools, such as Collibra, is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder consulting skills, with the ability to understand business needs, translate requirements into effective data and reporting solutions, and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Experience with or interest in applying generative AI and emerging AI technologies to workforce analytics and related processes.
Responsibilities
Core Duties:
Define and drive areas of investigations to assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs, and tables) from structured data sources by querying data repositories and generating the associated information, including summary interpretations of results.
Develop and design methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources using a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques. Proactively suggest areas of investigations.
Design and create meaningful reports that effectively illustrate key findings within the data. Identify and recommend strategic data collection and reporting requirements. Effectively convey findings and recommendations to varied audience groups and senior leadership.
Create non-routine databases and generate related information summaries. Develop innovative algorithms and statistical models to help with finding key insights.
Perform advanced statistical analyses that are appropriate for complex datasets and reporting requirements.
Provide subject matter expertise for ad-hoc projects and inquiries (e.g., requests for statistical analyses or surveys).
Direct and drive the implementation of data standards and common data elements for data collection.
Lead and/or collaborate with technical staff, project teams or vendors to develop standardizing processes and systemize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics.
May lead testing of prototype software and participate in the approval and release process for new software.
May oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum Experience:
Five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, or engineering.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced experience applying analytical software, database management system software, database reporting software, database user interface and query software, and data mining software.
Advanced ability to collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining and hardcopy or electronic documentation study, to improve or expand databases.
Advanced experience utilizing complex statistical tools and techniques.
Considerable interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences and influence senior leadership & faculty in key decisions.
Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible, and rigorous attention to detail.
Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question.
Ability to work with data of varying levels of complexity, quality, and validity.
Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.
Effectively manage multiple requests from internal and external customers.
Demonstrated experience in leading projects with users/clients.
