Senior Associate | SALT Tax Incentives | National Tax Office

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Prepare assorted state and local tax incentives and credit documents for Kansas, Missouri and various other states

• Research state enterprise zone locations and various legislative changes and updates in the states for which they are responsible

• Master all Kansas and Missouri core tax credit programs and be responsible for a portion of other non-core programs, as well as tax credit programs in other states

• Be responsible for managing a variety of clients and make sure that all paperwork is completed in order to maximize the benefit for the client

• Prepare state training grants on behalf of clients regarding the training of new employees or the retaining of existing employees

• Additional responsibilities as assigned 

   

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to work independently and handle multiple client projects
• Must be comfortable visiting clients and managing their accounts on an ongoing basis
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting or related field

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
• 2 years of experience in public accounting or related field
• CPA candidates preferred
• Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
