About this role

We're looking for a senior Brand Designer to own brand expression in the Meta Ads product design system, the design system behind Meta's ads and business tools, including Ads Manager and Meta Business Suite. This role will build brand into product UI and the design system by translating it into rules and assets that hold up across complex product surfaces and in AI-generated experiences. You'll be the team's point of contact with Meta's central brand teams, bringing their direction into our system and deciding how it applies when brands and product needs compete.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship with Meta's central brand teams. Track upcoming brand changes, assess what they mean for ads products, and bring them into the Ads design system with a plan
  • Define how Ads Manager and related tools express the Meta brand, both on Meta's surfaces and on third-party surfaces where our tools appear
  • Set hierarchy and rules for the multiple AI product brands that share our interfaces, and align the product teams that own them
  • Translate brand requirements into color tokens, theming, primitives, and icon rules that designers, engineers, and AI tools can apply on their own
  • Manage icons for ads products: look and feel, guidance on inheriting vs. creating icons, and the technical approach to performance and cross-platform scaling
  • Write the guidance, examples, and evaluation criteria that guide AI design tools to apply brand and judge visual quality
  • Spot risks and dependencies early, such as brand changes, migrations, and deprecations, and drive them to resolution across teams
  • Modernize system primitives against current industry benchmarks

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in brand, visual, or product design
  • A portfolio showing brand systems applied in digital products: color, iconography, typography, or theming
  • Experience turning brand guidelines into design system rules or components that other designers use
  • Experience leading work across teams you don't manage, including aligning senior stakeholders on visual direction
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including framing a visual problem in terms of user and business impact
  • Proficiency in Figma

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Project management across several concurrent workstreams
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Iconography craft and experience running an icon system
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Comfort taking on product design work when a problem calls for it
  • Working knowledge of design tokens, theming, and how design systems are implemented in code
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in design work: generation, evaluation, prototyping, or coding assistants
  • Motion design experience (After Effects, Lottie)
  • Experience with enterprise, B2B, or other complex product surfaces

Compensation

  • $149,000/year - $209,000/year; Country: US; Bonus eligible; Equity eligible
