Our business directly addresses the Defense and Security markets in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. We currently have an opening for a Senior Director of Production & Supply Chain. This position reports to the CEO.
The Senior Director of Production & Supply Chain is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's end-to-end production and supply chain functions, including Production, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Supplier Management, Logistics, Inventory Control, and Repair Operations. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, resources, and products from suppliers through manufacturing and delivery while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule objectives. The Senior Director of Production & Supply Chain partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Executive Leadership to scale manufacturing operations, improve supply chain performance, and ensure on-time delivery of products and customer commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight for Production, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Logistics, Inventory Control, and Repair Operations.
- Develop and execute production and supply chain strategies that support company growth, operational scalability, and customer requirements.
- Lead production planning and execution activities to ensure manufacturing schedules are achieved while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
- Oversee procurement and supplier management activities to ensure material availability, supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation.
- Manage material planning, inventory control, and demand forecasting processes to support production requirements and optimize working capital.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Finance teams to support new product introductions, production readiness, and operational execution.
- Identify supply chain risks, production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and material shortages and implement corrective actions.
- Lead logistics and fulfillment activities to ensure timely shipment of products and customer deliveries.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and supply chain operations to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and cost performance.
- Develop workforce and capacity plans to support production growth and changing business requirements.
- Establish and maintain processes, procedures, and best practices that support operational excellence and scalability.
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
- Develop and mentor production and supply chain personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, production, supply chain, procurement, or related operational environments.
- Experience leading both production/manufacturing operations and supply chain organizations.
- Strong understanding of production planning, procurement, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, logistics, and supplier management.
- Experience developing and monitoring KPIs, capacity plans, production metrics, inventory metrics, and supplier performance metrics.
- Proven ability to improve manufacturing throughput, operational efficiency, inventory performance, and on-time delivery.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and supply chain risk mitigation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
