The role also serves as a technical resource and mentor for estimators, preconstruction apprentices, and interns while collaborating with multidisciplinary ISC teams to develop accurate, well-supported proposals.
WHY JOIN ISC?

- Establish labor units, crew assumptions, material quantities, equipment requirements, and other estimate inputs.
- Develop and evaluate material and equipment pricing using supplier quotations, historical information, and current estimating data.
- Solicit, analyze, and incorporate vendor and subcontractor quotations, including evaluation of pricing, scope coverage, exclusions, and commercial terms and conditions.
- Prepare overhead and temporary requirements (OH&T) and other supporting estimate documentation.
- Participate in site visits to evaluate existing conditions, constructability considerations, logistics, and other factors affecting project cost and execution.
- Participate in bid reviews and proposal presentations, clearly communicating estimating assumptions, risks, exclusions, and pricing strategies.
- Work closely with ISC preconstruction, construction, engineering, procurement, project management, and other disciplines to develop complete and executable proposals.
- Review estimating work for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with proposal requirements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to estimators, Preconstruction Apprentices, and Interns.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Significant electrical and instrumentation construction and estimating knowledge, with experience developing estimates for complex E&I scopes.
- Approximately 10 or more years of relevant E&I construction, preconstruction, or estimating experience appropriate for a senior estimating role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred; extensive directly applicable preconstruction and estimating experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Demonstrated ability to lead estimates and coordinate proposal development across multiple disciplines.
- Strong ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and related construction documents.
- Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and developing labor, material, equipment, subcontract, and indirect cost components of an estimate.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage priorities, learn quickly, work independently, and remain self-motivated in a deadline-driven estimating environment.
