Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.

Due to available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $25.29 per hour.

Why does the job exist?

 
Position will process vendor payments and client reimbursements. Position will maintain, review and complete reconciliation of financial records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles and standards.

How does it get done?

 
*   Ensure required documentation is received and verified before processing inmate financial transactions
*   Review transactions for documentation of obligation, payment authorization, timely payment and accurate recording
*   Communicate with vendors and clients
*   Review, audit and pay invoices against approved purchase documents

Ideal Candidate

 
Experience in the following:
*   Per-diem and mileage
*   Financial reconciliations
*   General Accepted Accounting Principles
*   Compliance with accepted accounting principles and standards

Minimum Qualification

 

High School diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates. May be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
