Senior Group Technical Architect (161595)

This role requires a strong combination of engineering leadership, solution architecture, delivery governance, stakeholder management, and talent development. The individual will work closely with business leaders, product owners, enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, and engineering stakeholders to translate business priorities into secure, scalable, and measurable technology outcomes.

The role will also champion the responsible adoption of Generative AI and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity, software quality, delivery velocity, and engineering experience.

Define and execute the engineering strategy for enterprise web, mobile, API, and digital platform initiatives.Lead large, cross-functional engineering teams across software development, architecture, quality engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, and production support.Align engineering roadmaps with business objectives, customer experience priorities, enterprise architecture standards, and modernization goals.Establish and promote engineering excellence through coding standards, reusable frameworks, design reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement.Mentor engineering managers, technical leads, architects, and developers while building a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.Develop succession plans and strengthen engineering capability through structured coaching, upskilling, and career development.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.Significant experience in software engineering, including substantial leadership responsibility for enterprise engineering teams and complex digital programs.Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams across web, mobile, platform, API, quality engineering, DevOps, and production-support functions.Strong experience in enterprise application modernization, solution architecture, cloud-native engineering, and digital platform delivery.Proven experience delivering customer-facing applications in complex, regulated, or large enterprise environments.Strong knowledge of modern frontend, mobile, API, and backend engineering practices.Experience with technologies such as:

• React and Next.js
• React Native
• Node.js
• Python and API development
• Microservices and micro-frontend architectures
• Cloud platforms and cloud-native engineering
• API management platforms
• CI/CD and DevOps automation
• Enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability solutions

Practical understanding of Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent platforms.Experience evaluating technology solutions from security, privacy, governance, and compliance perspectives.Strong understanding of Agile delivery, automated testing, accessibility, performance optimization, and engineering quality practices.Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
