About this role
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
Netflix is investing heavily in GenAI tooling to drive workforce productivity - across both general-purpose use cases (e.g., coding assistants, enterprise productivity tools used broadly across the company) and domain-specific use cases tailored to individual functions (finance, legal, marketing, etc.) and workflows. This role sits on the Finance & Strategy (F&S) team responsible for making sense of that investment: building the ROI framework that ties GenAI spend to real productivity gains, supporting the measurement infrastructure and reporting that gives leaders visibility into adoption and impact, and supporting commercial strategy and negotiations with technology vendors.
As a Senior Manager on this team, you'll operate at the intersection of finance, data science, product, and vendor strategy - translating fast-moving, often incomplete data into a clear narrative and set of recommendations for senior leadership. You'll support the analytical work behind vendor negotiations as our technology strategy evolves.
This role will be based in our Los Gatos office, report to the Director of F&S, and will lead a team of two associates.
Responsibilities
Support the longer term strategy including evaluation of the internal ecosystem and continuously evolving industry landscape of open source and open weight models and harnesses
Own the ROI and measurement narrative for GenAI enterprise and workforce tooling - translating adoption, engagement, and cost data into a clear story for senior stakeholders
Develop a shared analytical framework for evaluating both general-purpose use cases (tools with broad, company-wide adoption) and domain-specific use cases (workflows tailored to a particular function or team), ensuring each is measured and valued appropriately
Develop and maintain a phased measurement framework that builds confidence in productivity gains over time
Drive the build-out and evolution of internal dashboards and reporting that serve as a source of truth for GenAI adoption, engagement, and cost across use cases and functions, partnering with data science, engineering, and finance teams
Support vendor negotiation strategy through scenario modeling (e.g., commitment levels, discount structures, multi-vendor cost tradeoffs) for major technology vendors, partnering with legal, procurement, and product teams
Help refine financial models for technology tooling spend, stress-testing assumptions around usage growth, pricing, and adoption across both general and domain-specific tools
Partner with functional leaders across the company to help them interpret their spend and productivity data, and inform decisions on where to invest
Manage and develop a team of two, ensuring rigorous, well-communicated analysis across the team's workstreams
Qualifications
A strong track record of critical thinking, performing comprehensive analyses independently, and communicating recommendations clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders
8-10 years of experience in a highly analytical environment (e.g., management consulting, corporate strategy, or a similarly analytical role within a media or tech company); prior people-management experience preferred
Comfort operating in ambiguity — building models and frameworks from incomplete or fast-changing data
Expert working knowledge of Excel and the ability to quickly learn internal tools; working knowledge of visualization/dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau)
Experience with vendor negotiation, procurement, or commercial deal analysis is a strong plus
Solid understanding of product and technology concepts, with experience partnering with product, engineering, and data science teams
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on quantitative coursework (finance, economics, mathematics, engineering/computer science, or related fields)
Bonus: familiarity with GenAI/LLM tooling, token-based pricing models, and current GenAI tooling landscape such as open source / open weight and frontier models and harnesses
