Senior Manager, Finance - US Transportation

Position Summary...

Join Walmart as a Senior Finance Manager and help shape the strategic direction of the transportation business. This role partners with senior leaders to support Walmart's growing eCommerce transportation business and domestic transportation network, developing short- and long-range plans, evaluating growth opportunities, and informing business decisions. The position supports initiatives that improve efficiency and drive leverage across the network.

The Senior Finance Manager assesses risks and opportunities, aligns financial plans with business objectives, and partners across Finance and Operations to support investment decisions. Success requires financial planning expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence Finance and Operations leaders.


About the team:
Our team analyzes business performance and provides financial decision support to ensure strong financial controls across Walmart’s extensive transportation network, including ocean and domestic logistics and the growing e-commerce sector. Collaborating closely with transportation leadership, data analytics, and continuous improvement teams, we develop new processes, enhance reporting transparency, and align operational and financial plans. This cross-functional partnership enables informed decision-making and supports Walmart’s strategic goals by integrating financial planning, risk mitigation, and business strategy to drive effective financial management and operational excellence.

What you'll do...

• Lead capital planning activities for the transportation business, supporting AOP and LRP processes and aligning investment strategies with operational priorities and financial objectives
• Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate capital investments, growth initiatives, and strategic business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and enhance financial processes and transparency.
• Lead execution of business plans by identifying priorities, removing obstacles, and measuring performance.
• Support the rapidly growing eCommerce transportation business by developing short- and long-range financial plans and evaluating growth opportunities.
• Leverage automation and AI to improve planning efficiency, data quality, and insight generation. Analyze business performance, explain key variances, and provide actionable financial insights.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling to support strategic business decisions.
• Proven ability to manage complex control structures and mitigate financial risks effectively.
• Working knowledge of SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial results and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Expertise in driving business plans, measuring performance, and implementing process improvements.
• Commitment to ethics, integrity, and compliance with company policies and standards.
• Ability to adapt, innovate, and support continuous learning within the finance function.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.
1 year’s experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
1 year’s supervisory experience.
