Base Salary   $51,122 (The salary indicated represents a base pay rate.  If the candidate selected is eligible for a years-of-service pay differential, it will be added to the total compensation.  A pay differential does not raise the base pay.)

Job Location:  Division of Professional Registration, Central Investigations Unit, areas of south St. Louis, central, and southeast Missouri.  Successful candidate will work from a home office.  Travel will generally be within assigned area with some occasional travel outside region, including overnight.  Day travel will average 50% and night travel 10% annually.

Candidates must have good, effective communication skills, be self-motivated with minimal supervision, have the ability to multi-task, make routine decisions, organize workflow and establish priorities and deadlines. 

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

·         Conduct investigations of suspected violations and or incidents related to administrative law.

·         Conduct new and routine business inspections.

·         Collect, assemble, and preserve facts, statements, affidavits for use in legal actions.

·         Prepare and review detailed reports of investigative findings.

·         Serve subpoenas.

·         Testify in criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings.

Qualifications - All you need for success

What we are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications

·      Two or more years of civil, administrative or criminal investigative experience, or experience as a law enforcement officer; and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in criminal justice, law enforcement, criminology, business administration, social sciences or closely related area.   (Qualifying experience will substitute for deficiencies in education.); or

·        One or more years of experience as a Non-Commissioned Investigator.

·        Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Lack of postsecondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         Prior law enforcement experience with an emphasis in investigations.

·         Ability to prepare clear, organized and detailed reports of investigative findings.

·         Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

·         Ability to travel within the state with some overnight stays.
