About this role
Responsible for variety of tasks related to the greeting, interviewing and registration of patients. This includes but is not limited to, obtaining patient demographics, insurance information and verification, explanation of various medical forms and policies, obtaining signatures, discussions on financial responsibilities, collection of monies and initiation of the proper episode of care. Processes required information on all patients according to departmental and interdepartmental policies and procedures while adhering to the patient focused admissions process. Performs all other duties assigned such as filing keyboarding, answering telephone, etc. Is able to work effectively and calmly with frequent interruptions, in a rapid-paced environment. Accountable to obtain timely and accurate information. The Senior Patient Services Representative works independently while performing duties in all areas of the clinic office setting. This position may be responsible for training new hires.
Required Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in a healthcare related field, specifically patient access, insurance eligibility verification/authorization, billing/electronic claims submission, or collection of accounts receivable.
- Computer and/or data entry experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous hospital admitting experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the employee with the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work will be considered.
