About this role

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware product quality, customer quality, reliability, or product engineering for display modules, electro-optical devices, or consumer electronics.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to resolve technical quality issues and driving structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DMAIC).
  • Experience in a customer-facing or partner-facing quality role managing technical escalations.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in display module quality or reliability (e.g., MicroLED, MicroOLED, LCD/OLED, Light Engines) in high-volume consumer hardware or AR/VR systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality systems and risk management methodologies, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Python, SQL) for yield pareto analysis, failure trend modeling, and risk assessment.
  • In-depth understanding of optoelectronic characterization, display module assembly processes, and optical metrology.

About the job

As a Senior Product Quality Engineer, you will own end-to-end product and customer quality strategy for light engine assemblies (LEA) and display system assemblies (DSA) across the product lifecycle from new product introduction (NPI) to high-volume mass production. You will serve as the primary quality liaison between internal engineering teams and manufacturing partners.

In this role, you will advocate product quality, customer quality, drive failure analysis workflows with partners, oversee product quality metrics, and lead cross-functional root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) to deliver industry-leading display module quality. You will also leverage your ability to analyze complex data, drive root cause analysis, and influence design and process improvements.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end product quality for Opto-mechanical modules (like LEA, DSA), driving quality target alignment (AFR), DFQ/NUDD reviews, and lessons learned across development phases.
  • Lead customer quality and downstream partner engagements, managing quality issue escalations, represent customer feedback, and downstream audit/scorecard readiness.
  • Drive the failure analysis, leading cross-functional root cause and corrective actions (RCCA/8D) with design, failure analysis, and manufacturing teams.
  • Govern product change notifications (PCNs) and material review board (MRB) dispositions to safeguard product quality and design integrity.
  • Establish comprehensive product quality dashboards, analyzing return merchandise authorization (RMA) data and failure modes to drive continuous design and process enhancements.
