Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Finance Operations team within the Finance & Actuarial organization. This role plays a critical part in advancing strategic objectives by providing leadership and oversight for complex initiatives that drive business transformation, operational effectiveness, and organizational priorities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and results-oriented leader who excels at navigating ambiguity, building alignment across diverse stakeholders, and ensuring initiatives deliver meaningful business value. This position offers the opportunity to influence key decisions, support enterprise change, and contribute to the continued evolution of the Finance & Actuarial organization. 

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $110,000-$120,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex, enterprise-impacting projects and programs across the Finance & Actuarial organization.  
  • Partner with business leaders to drive Finance & Actuarial's highest-priority strategic initiatives, serving as a trusted advisor in project and program management.  

  • Build and foster high-performing project teams by developing strong relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, vendors, customers, and team members while effectively prioritizing work and optimizing resources.  

  • Proactively manage project scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and action plans to ensure achievement of expected business outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.  

  • Oversee a portfolio of concurrent projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective cost management, quality outcomes, and alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, delivering measurable business outcomes on time and within budget.  
  • Strong understanding of Finance operations, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable project plans and sustainable process improvements.  

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, building trusted partnerships across Finance, Actuarial, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and enterprise leadership teams.  

  • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, change management, and resource planning to ensure successful adoption and long-term value realization.  

  • Experience with the vendor management process, focused on supplier onboarding, risk management, contract compliance, and fostering strategic partnerships that support business objectives and drive operational efficiency. 

  • Analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information, prioritize competing demands, and support executive decision-making with clarity and confidence. 

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture where diverse perspectives are valued, courageous conversations are encouraged, and curiosity drives continuous learning, innovation, and stronger business outcomes. 

  • Remote Finance employees outside of the Omaha area must have the ability to travel occasionally (approximately 5–10% annually) to attend Finance and Actuarial events or as determined needed by manager (travel reimbursed per our T&E policy). 

  • Local Finance Operations Division employees are expected to be in the office more than 50% of the time beginning Q2 2027.  

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance 

  • Master’s Degree in related field 

  • P.M.P. (Project Management Professional) 

  • C.A.P.M. (Certified Associate in Project Management)
