The New Mexico Department of Health is a centralized state agency that ensures safety net services to all New Mexicans through the many programs and services. The NMDOH works to ensure health equity through collaboration with partners to promote health and well-being and improve health outcomes for all people in New Mexico. The Public Health Division helps meet the needs of New Mexico by utilizing multi-disciplinary teams including Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Children's Medical Services (CMS), Health Promotion, Disease Intervention Team, and Health Services. Health Services programs include Breast and Cervical Cancer screening, Family Planning services, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) prevention, screening and treatment, Medications for Alcohol and Opioid Use Disorder (MAUD/MOUD) Immunizations Tuberculosis (TB) treatment and emergency response.
Why does the job exist?
This position supports and delivers various public health services primarily in the Santa Fe and Los Alamos Public Health Offices Health Services programs may include: 1 1) Breast and Cervical Cancer screening and referral; 2) STI screening, treatment and referrals; 3) Immunizations; 4) Family Planning services; 5) Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) services; 6) Tuberculosis, screening and treatment; Case Management for tuberculosis and as need for other clients; Community Outreach; Health Promotion; and Disease Management. This work is done through advocacy, adherence to clinical protocols, standing orders, education and policies and procedures.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
