Senior Systems Integrator, Counter-Uncrewed Systems (C-UxS)

Job Summary
CenCore is seeking a Senior Systems Integrator, Counter-Uncrewed Systems (C-UxS), to support a government experimentation event through a 1099 independent contractor engagement. This senior, hands-on integrator will serve as the technical owner for a containerized, self-contained operations node that brings together commercial software, sensors, government-furnished sensor feeds, networks, data services, command-and-control systems, cyber considerations, and defeat capabilities into a cohesive sense-to-effect system of systems.

This role is ideal for a technically versatile professional who can translate mission needs into executable integration plans, solve complex interoperability challenges under schedule pressure, coordinate partner engineers and vendors, and represent CenCore as the technical counterpart to government communications, capability, and evaluation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical owner for the integrated C-UxS operations node, including the master integration plan, interface control, network architecture, compute allocation, power allocation, and technical risk management.
• Translate operational challenges and mission requirements into mission threads, use cases, system requirements, interface requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable deliverables.
• Integrate sensors, command-and-control systems, networks, data services, effectors, evidence and analysis software, and government-furnished sensor feeds into a single operational system of systems.
• Own and troubleshoot network architecture, encrypted transport overlays, government network connections, data pipes between node instances, protocols, timing, configurations, and interoperability issues.
• Develop and maintain system architectures, data-flow diagrams, interface-control documentation, configuration baselines, integration backlogs, action trackers, capability-gap logs, and technical risk registers.
• Coordinate and direct partner integration engineers, vendors, software developers, original equipment manufacturers, military operators, and government stakeholders during planning, integration, and live trial activities.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities, technical approaches, and integration readiness; identify areas of overlap, assign integration lanes, and hold partners accountable to defined interfaces.
• Run pre-event integration activities, including an integration sprint and hardware breadboard, to reduce risk before live event execution.
• Support authorized enabling actions such as spectrum requests, network and equipment requests, cybersecurity compliance, system hardening, identity management, data protection, and safety documentation.
• Plan and support laboratory, field, and live test events, including test objectives, scenarios, measures of performance and effectiveness, test cards, pass/fail criteria, setup, troubleshooting, data collection, and daily reporting.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, verify issue closure, gather operator feedback, and assess operational suitability, usability, and mission effectiveness.
• Prepare leadership briefings, executive summaries, technical recommendations, decision-support materials, and post-event technical documentation.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience in systems integration, military operations, engineering, communications, C-UxS, electronic warfare, robotics, autonomous systems, or a related technical field.
• Experience serving as the integrator of record for at least one exercise, experiment, operational deployment, field test, or comparable mission event.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple hardware and software components into an operational capability under schedule pressure.
• Working knowledge of C-UxS mission areas, including detection, identification, classification, tracking, command and control, and kinetic or non-kinetic defeat.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting system interfaces, data flows, networks, APIs, protocols, configurations, and component connectivity.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into technical tasks, integration plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience coordinating technical issues across vendors, government stakeholders, operators, developers, and engineering partners.
• Experience planning or supporting laboratory, field, live test, experimentation, or operational assessment events.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop technical documentation and leadership-facing decision-support materials.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment with limited direction.
• Ability to travel within the continental United States as required for integration, testing, and event support.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI access.
• Direct operational or technical experience with C-UxS capabilities across counter-air, counter-ground, counter-surface, or counter-subsurface unmanned-system missions.
• Experience with radar, radio-frequency detection, electro-optical and infrared sensors, acoustic sensors, electronic warfare, kinetic or non-kinetic effectors, and command-and-control platforms.
• Experience with tactical networks and data links, TAK environments, Cursor-on-Target, military communications systems, edge-computing architectures, REST APIs, OpenAPI, message brokers, data schemas, and system-to-system interfaces.
• Knowledge of modular open systems approaches, government reference architectures, requirements traceability matrices, interface-control documents, test plans, and configuration baselines.
• Experience with air-defense or C-UxS command-and-control interfaces such as FAAD C2, Link 16, or JREAP-C.
• Experience with rapid acquisition, prototyping, experimentation, operational assessments, urgent capability fielding, cybersecurity, system hardening, identity management, or data protection in government environments.
• Military background in air defense, aviation, fires, communications, intelligence, electronic warfare, special operations, maritime operations, or unmanned systems.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related technical field; relevant military and technical experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This is a 1099 independent contractor, day-rate engagement supporting a government experimentation event. Work will be performed remotely and at partner, integration, hardware breadboard, and experiment sites within the continental United States. The expected period of performance is approximately mid-September through late November 2026, contingent on continued program need. Travel is anticipated for up to approximately one week in October and approximately two weeks in November. The role may require work in accredited or controlled environments and the ability to support fast-paced integration, setup, testing, troubleshooting, and live event activities.
