Position Summary

A Senior Business Analyst will deepen their skillset with specialist knowledge, take on leadership and strategic perspective. A Senior Business Analyst has a good understanding of business and product strategy, primarily leading large and/or complex projects. A Senior Business Analyst can expect to influence the DWS business creating bold, innovative work. The key responsibilities of this role level will require the Senior Business Analyst to mentor others, develop best practice, own stakeholder relationships, lead business analysis practice activities and be responsible for business analysis project timeline setting and status reporting.

 

This role is Hybrid out of our northern Chicago office and candidate must reside in its proximity.

What You'll do as a Senior Technical Business Analyst

  • Identifies opportunities to improve business performance, within a project or program. Can lead the analysis, identification, design, prioritization and implementation of process and business changes to improve business operations and services. Can assess the feasibility of changes and recommend new approaches. Can support the implementation of proposed business improvements.
  • Can advise on the approach to requirements management within a project or program. Can define the most appropriate requirements management life cycle methods and ensure the requirement can be traced in the design, build, test and post-release evaluation phases. Can co-ordinate and review the prioritization of requirements and engage in the negotiation of solutions to help meet program objectives.
  • Proficient in establishing relationships, analyzing perspectives and managing stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines; adapting stakeholder engagement style to meet the needs of different audiences. Able to identify key business stakeholders and assess their levels of power and interest and their perspectives to inform the way(s) in which they should be considered and managed.
  • Can lead on the modelling of processes, systems and data at varying levels of detail or complexity across a project or program. Can manage the effects of proposed changes. Proficient in using tools (manual or automated) to record the structure, relationships and use of information within an organization, such as: class diagram, Current and Future State process models, User journey mapping are examples.
  • Acquiring deeper understanding and insights regarding the underlying issues in complex problems or situations through the development of abstract representations, the identification of patterns and the analysis of hypotheses.
  • Competent in identifying and comparing the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. Can help the team to decide the best approach. Can help teams to manage and visualize outcomes, prioritize work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope.
  • Proficient in applying standards, practices, codes, and assessment and certification program relevant to the IT industry.
  • Aware of relevant Healthcare industry professional bodies, organizations and standards and how they apply to quality processes within the industry.
  • Role will be a competent communicator, establishing relationships, contributing to an open culture and maintaining contacts with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Comfortably tailors presentation skills dependent on audience, leading sessions with Customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Competent using different communication tools that allow people to create, share or exchange information, ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities and networks to better enhance their presentation capabilities.
  • Can advise on the approach to analysis, prioritization and validation of user experience needs. Can recommend a range of techniques to analyze the user experience and ensure that it meets business and user needs. Can articulate and communicate how user experience needs affect the design of a system in a project or program of work and work closely with the Design Team to ensure effective collaboration and minimal overlap of tasks are achieved.
  • Will make decisions that keep organizational objectives and strategies in mind and ensuring courses of action are aligned with the strategic context.
  • Will be responsible for deciding analysis activities to be undertaken within a project and will be competent delegating tasks and setting timelines for team members. Will support other team members where timeline conflicts occur and will oversee activity/task output to ensure projects are kept on track.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Must have at least 1 years experience in a Senior Business Analysis role or a role working as an Lead Business Analyst
  • 4+ years experience in the application of business analysis methodologies and principles as appropriate
  • 4+ years experience with a strong understanding of the requirements engineering process and the discipline and rigor required to achieve successful outcomes.
  • 2+ years experience of process mapping or modelling business processes and working with stakeholders.
  • 2+ years experience working on both internal and external stakeholder projects
  • 1+ years experience leading or coaching and mentoring team members

Pay range for this opportunity is $95,000 - 120,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
