We have an opening for a Shipping Clerk on our team!
The Shipping Clerk locates, packs, weighs, ships and tracks orders for customers. Also, creates appropriate documentation for shipments.
- Assembles containers as required according to the customer order and the carrier.
- Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
- Binds containers with tape, shrink wrap, strapping or other available material and ensures paperwork is accurate and visible.
- Counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Affixes labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information, using available equipment and customer specifications.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Operates appropriate equipment to move, convey or hoist pallets/boxes.
Must haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a shipping area of a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping systems preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities crucial to success in this position include:
- Professional and courteous verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to become certified as a forklift operator.
- Ability to work proficiently in Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to learn quickly and become proficient with in-house software applications as well as shipping applications.
