About this role
Abbott is a global healthcare company whose nutrition business develops science-based products, including Similac, for people of all ages. The Financial Analyst will support financial planning, reporting, and analysis for the US Similac Nutrition business, including forecasting, budgeting, month-end close, variance analysis, and reserve management. The role will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
What you'll do:
- Manage Excess & Obsolete (E&O) reserve processes, including analysis, reporting, forecasting, and identification of financial risks and opportunities
- Lead month-end close activities for Similac AP&G, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Support the development of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans for AP&G, E&O and OMC lines of P&L
- Perform detailed variance analysis of actual results versus forecast, budget, and prior year performance, identifying key business drivers and trends
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate financial results, provide actionable insights, and support informed business decision-making
- Prepare and distribute financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations that highlight performance, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance financial reporting, forecast accuracy, and overall business performance
- Collaborate with business partners to evaluate the financial impacts of strategic initiatives, spending proposals, and operational changes
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, accounting, operational finance, or a related finance function
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business performance analysis
- Excel and PowerPoint expertise is a must
- Advanced ability to develop Ad-Hoc reports using tools such as Cognos and Excel
- Expert Excel skills and experience a plus
- Analytically strong
- Able to communicate responses in a clear and concise manner
- Able to collaborate and compromise with multiple cross-functional partners and business stakeholders
- Able to prioritize and operate with a sense of urgency when needed, able to prioritize the needs of various customers (retail and BU partners, ANPD leadership, etc.)
