Mastercard's internship program offers hands-on work, opportunities to build skills, expand your network, and make a meaningful impact while working on projects that support business priorities. ## About the team The Business Operations Site Reliability Engineer is the production readiness steward for Mastercard products. The team is responsible for ensuring that the platform is stable and healthy, fostering developer-run ownership, and empowering developers to build resilient products. The team supports developers during the application build phase in operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring to create fault-tolerant and scalable products. The team supports daily operations with a focus on triage, root cause analysis, understanding business impact, and performing blameless post-mortems. Business Operations teams engage early in the development lifecycle, proactively manage production and change activities, and work to maximize customer experience and increase the overall value of supported applications. They also focus on risk management, compliance, and risk mitigation across all environments. ## What we're looking for - Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028. - Experience through coursework, projects, or internships with programming or scripting, such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar; Linux/Unix systems; and foundational networking concepts. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and automation tools through academic or hands-on experience. - Understanding of system monitoring, observability, application reliability, troubleshooting, and performance optimization concepts. - Exposure to tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Jenkins, Bitbucket, PCF, or similar technologies through coursework, projects, internships, or personal learning. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn new technologies and work in a collaborative team environment. - This role is not eligible for Mastercard's work authorization sponsorship.
