The Smart & Final High School Outreach Musician serves as a student ambassador for the Conservatory of Music by participating in outreach performances, clinics, and recruitment activities at local high schools. This position provides students with opportunities to share their musical talents, engage with prospective students, and support music education initiatives within the community.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a section leader for Smart & Final outreach performances and events at local high schools.
- Participate in music clinics, workshops, performances, and recruitment activities.
- Represent the Conservatory of Music in a professional and positive manner.
- Engage with prospective students and provide information about the Conservatory of Music and Chapman University.
- Assist with special projects and outreach initiatives as assigned.
- Attend rehearsals, meetings, and outreach events as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current Music major, Music minor, or member of the Chapman Orchestra (TCO) or Wind Symphony.
- Strong musicianship and ensemble performance skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and fellow student musicians.
- Reliable, professional, and punctual.
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in music education, community engagement, and student recruitment.
- Experience participating in music clinics, mentoring, or outreach programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for representing Chapman University and the Conservatory of Music
