Job Summary:

The Opus College of Business (OCB) is looking for a creative social media & content producer to join its marketing and communications team for the fall 2026 semester.

 

Working under the direction of the marketing team, the social media & content producer will assist with creating social content for the Opus College graduate programs, the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship, and Executive Education.

 

This is a hands-on production role for someone interested in social media, writing, short-form video, and photography. They will receive direction, feedback, and training while also having opportunities to pitch ideas and build a portfolio of work.

 

The ideal candidate will be available to start by 9/15/2026, and assume 16-20 hours/week during the fall 2026 semester. The schedule is flexible but will include agreed-upon campus assignments and occasional event coverage.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Opus College social media efforts by drafting, adapting and scheduling approved content in Hootsuite
  • Contribute content ideas based on college priorities, campus activity and platform trends
  • Create graphics ads and flyers for social media, events and academic programs using Canva and established brand templates
  • Capture and edit short-form video and photography from selected classes, events, and interviews for use across social media and other College communications
  • Assist with basic channel monitoring and reporting, including monitoring comments, flagging questions/issues and identifying content that performs well

 

 

Special Instructions for Candidates:Please submit a resume and two to four relevant work samples. Samples may include social posts, short-form videos, photography, graphics or links to public accounts you have helped manage. Please briefly describe your role in creating each sample.

  • Understanding of social media platforms and ability to schedule, create, and publish content 
  • Strong, concise writing and attention to detail
  • Basic experience recording and editing short-form video
  • Good visual judgement and an understanding of what makes social content engaging
  • Strong organization and ability to manage several assignments and deadlines
  • Comfortable approaching people and gathering brief interviews or comments
  • Willingness to receive feedback and revise work
  • Care when handling facts, names, brand standards, accessibility

Experience with Hootsuite, social analytics, photography or video or editing software is helpful but not required.

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
